(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery")A lighthearted whimsy emanates from this celebratively hued rug from the Mahal Persian village weaving tradition. A cornucopia of bright, naturally dyed colors dazzle the eyes and senses as saffron yellow, sky-blue, sage green and strawberry red flower blossoms are arrayed in three vertical bands of equal width. The effect is a stunningly harmonious proportion, but also a sense of movement where the flowerheads are truncated at top and bottom, with the weaver’s intent being that the patterns stretch into infinite. Excellent heavier pile condition and an extremely versatile, extremely rarely found square shape assure that this piece will enliven any small room, niche or passageway to great effect.
