This rare gem of a Chi Chi is one of the most glorious and uplifting of its kind we have had the privilege to offer. Its consummately skilled tribal weaver rendered each inventive repeating motif with exquisite clarity due to an exceptionally fine weave and tremendous dexterity. Countless geometric details are organized with thrilling levels of chromatic contrast and expressed with great clarity, where elongated shapes are like ancient votive figurines with outstretched arms. Usually limited in scope, this rug's vivid, wide tonal range is immediately apparent, glittering on a rosewood-hued ground. To our surprise, the characteristic Chi Chi border of rosettes and diagonal bars has been supplanted by vibrantly colored abstract starflowers on an ivory base flanked by psychedelic chevrons. Thankfully, its condition is exemplary.
