Offering a unique rendition of the Khamseh style’s signature “Murghi” or bird design, this captivating rug presents an entirely innovative, energetic artwork through its prismatic display of jewel tones and an ingeniously ordered pattern. When presented in a multitude, the tribal Murgi motif, widely interpreted as a hen scratching the ground in search of food for her babies, creatives a celebration of the endless acts of motherhood. Rendered with tremendous clarity and palpably animated, the birds appear to be rummaging through copious amounts of boteh seeds scattered throughout the bright ivory field. Above and below each bird, original camel-like creatures navigate the epic scene. In the border suite, faceted mask-like boteh sparkle as they dance and sway along their narrow path.
