Celebrated for their exceptionally lustrous lamb's wool, and captivating stylized botanical designs, this very early example from the perennially loved blue Mahajiran Sarouk style is among the most unique and beautiful we have seen. Expertly balanced and exquisitely drawn botanical arrangements sparkle throughout the indigo field with a seemingly inner luminescence. Overscale floral motifs blend unexpectedly into the blazing carnelian "border" adorning the inner perimeter, their individual forms revealed by tint-shifting icy blue highlights coursing through the area. A panoply of surprising hues further enhances the rug's sense of sophistication and visual depth. The pattern within the burnished gold border is alive, with an almost tropical essence displaying like a vibrant coral reef. This luxurious 120-year-old carpet has only been lightly used and offers a sumptuous heavy pile for the perfect tactile experience.
