(Connoisseur-Caliber) Enlivened by an allover pattern executed with great clarity, this winsome antique Persian Mishin Malayer balanced composition creates a charming atmosphere. A floating gardenscape of filigree branches supports variegated leaves, buds, and blossoms. Perched within this perfect habitat are numerous alert songbirds, placed in a set repeating pattern, yet moving and "swaying" as though caught in the breeze due to the artist-weaver's talent for spontaneous variances in every motif. Combined with random boteh 'Seeds of Life,' the composition feels alive and present. A warm and approachable autumnal palette of naturally derived colors is showcased on the parchment background, which effortlessly supports every hue. Midnight cerulean blues, deep walnut, and rust tones stand alongside verdigris and vibrant melon hues, creating an effortless chromatic dynamism. Made with tremendously durable, shiny wool, some 150 years ago, this rug is in extremely good condition with an even, medium height pile.
