West Central Persian Antique Carpet

(High-Decorative) The spacious soft indigo field features a compelling arrangement of a variety of overscale blossoming vines and boughs, culminating in elaborately rendered polychrome palmettes and flowerhead of ivory, celadon, fuchsia and wheat. An undersized central cruciform blossom of deep rust rests amid the lattice of vinery and large, curling leaves while understated flora abound, surrounding the overscale elements. Wonderful abstract partial flowerheads line the horizontal edges of the field. The wide main border features an overscale meandering vine with connected palmettes and smaller blossoms throughout. It is flanked by two meandering vine and blossom secondary borders. An innermost reciprocal border and outermost solid indigo border complete the frame.
