A flower-sprouting corbelled mihrab covers a towering botanical structure filled with enchanting shapes, including two light-bearing lanterns, while ascending the rarely seen pistachio green reserve. Above, hyper abstract disarticulated flowerheads allow jagged peeks of platinum blue to peek through. This spellbinding piece offers an extended palette of exotic, exceptionally rare natural dyes and their various shades. The primary 'sobokli' border is a series of stripes adorned with tiny sprig and tulip motifs representing the seven paradise levels. This dazzling frame is flanked by slender helix guard bands and repeated stylized crocus patterns. An incredibly fine weave imparts a crisp clarity to this 19th-century carpet's winning blend of geometry and whimsical botanical detail. At nearly 200 years old, this lovingly preserved art carpet is a triumph of its type and a rare offering.
