Claremont Rug Company is pleased to present our newest addition to the Featured Arrivals collection, a bold and artistic antique Caucasian Kuba rug. In a superb, heavier pile condition, this memorable antique Kuba tribal rug immediately astounds the viewer. A deeply saturated palette of natural dyes magnificently enhances the warm luster of the lanolin-rich wool used in the best of Caucasian weaving. Skillfully wrought shades of vibrant goldenrod, oxblood, and azure invigorate blossoms on a luminous cobalt field. The rug’s ivory field border of double ram’s horn tree motifs surrounded by bird-like figures is highly unique, as are its two dissimilar guard stripes. This delightful area size clearly transmits the joyful spirit of the Caucasian people. With the rich palette and versatile size of this piece, it would be equally at home used a floor covering or as a piece of wall art.
