Claremont Rug Company is pleased to present this exquisite new addition to our featured arrivals collection, a delicately refined Laver Kirman. At 140 years old or more, this exquisite Laver Kirman is a superb achievement for both the amazing quality of craftsmanship it displays and the superb artistry. In order to execute the exquisite and delicate “mille fleur” design, an exceptionally fine weave is employed with extraordinary precision and clarity so as to reveal the articulation of each individual blossom and leaf that fill not only the expansive field but the resplendent series of six vibrant borders. The imaginative and highly original field design is comprised of a series of trees at the bottom whose interlocking limbs gracefully extend upward, twisting and turning, subtly organizing the myriad of blossoms into elegant compartments with unique yet balanced configurations. This stunning piece is the epitome of consummate craftsmanship and superlative artistry, and would be a magnificent highlight in any rug connoisseur’s collection.
